Bring Ya to the Brink · In 2007 reisde Cyndi Lauper door Engeland en Zweden om liedjes te schrijven met dansproducers als Basement Jaxx, The Scumfrog, Dragonette, Kleerup en Axwell. Vier nummers schreef en produceerde ze samen met de Amerikaanse dj Richard Morel. Zo ontstond een album dat in 2008 verscheen bij Epic Records, het label waar ze sinds haar debuut uit 1983 zat. Het was haar laatste album met eigen nieuwe nummers voor dat label.

Het geluid is dancepop met invloeden van eurodisco, soul, deep house, electro en nu-disco. Same Ol' Story en Into the Nightlife werden de singles, en Into the Nightlife groeide uit tot een grote clubhit in de Verenigde Staten. De Songwriters Hall of Fame rekent High and Mighty tot haar belangrijkste nummers. Het album kreeg overwegend gunstige recensies en een Grammy-nominatie voor beste dance- of elektronica-album.
